Let's consider the redirected folder is a share folder, it is strange as the same user get different result on different systems. Then go to Windows 7, logon the same account, try to access the path instead of click Documents icon to see if it can be accessed. In your redirction policy, try disabling "Grant user exclusive rights to Documents". This option checks the ownership of folder.

The above option needs to be disabled. I think we can test to log on the Windows XP system to backup files, log off, delete the redirected folder on local and logon Windows 7 to recreate it to see if issue still exists.
